An experienced trial and appellate practitioner, Andy is licensed in six states and numerous federal district trial and appellate circuit courts across the United States, including the U.S. Supreme Court.  He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in oil and gas, commercial business, property, financial, fiduciary, and probate trial and appellate litigation matters during his 39 years of practice.  Andy has been certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in both Civil Appellate Law and Civil Trial Law since 1992 and 1993, respectively, and has served on the Texas Board of Legal Specialization Exam Commissions for both Civil Appellate Law and Civil Trial Law.

Andy is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and is an Emeritus Master of the Eldon B. Mahon Inn of Court.  He is the immediate past Chair of the Tarrant County Bar Foundation Board, and a former Chair of the Tarrant County Bar Association Appellate Section.

The Award ceremony was held at the Palmwood Event and Conference Center at the Frost Bank Downtown Fort Worth Financial Center on November 13, 2025.  Proceeds from contributions in connection with the Law “Good Scout” Award help fund character-building programs for scouts in the 23-county area across central and north Texas that comprise the Longhorn Council.

Four HFB Shareholders have now received the Law “Good Scout” Award. Prior HFB receipts are Dee Finley (2012), Charles Harris (2015) and Roland Johnson (2019). Dee and Charlie are now deceased but their legacy lives on.
