James E. Key was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1999. He is a graduate of Texas Tech University (B.B.A., cum laude, 1994), Texas Christian University (M.B.A. 1996), and Texas Wesleyan School of Law (J.D., magna cum laude, 1999), where he served as an Articles Editor for the Texas Wesleyan Law Review.
After graduating from law school, James worked as a law clerk for Justice Dixon W. Holman of the Second Court of Appeals in Fort Worth, Texas (1999-2000).
James' practice involves complex business litigation, including oil and gas litigation, shareholder litigation, contract and business tort litigation, and intellectual property matters.
James is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, as well as all Texas trial and appellate courts. James is an Associate member of the American Inns of Court - Eldon B. Mahon division, and a member of the Tarrant County Bar Association, the Tarrant County Young Lawyers Association, and the Texas Association of Defense Counsel.
