Joe D. Tolbert was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1990. He graduated from Texas A&M University (B.S., cum laude 1983) and Texas Tech University School of Law (J.D., cum laude 1990). He was an associate editor of the Texas Tech Law Review (1989-90) and is a member of The Order of the Coif and Phi Delta Phi. Joe is admitted to practice law in the United States District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Texas and in all Courts for the State of Texas.
He is a former President of the Fort Worth-Tarrant County Young Lawyers Association and is a Fellow of the Tarrant County Bar Association. He served as Chairman of the Brown Bag Seminar Committee for four years and served as Co-Chair of the Blackstone Seminar in 1999-2000.
Joe is a trustee for the Birdville Independent School District. Previously he served as councilman to the City of North Richland Hills, Texas, Place 6, from May 2000 to May 2004. He also served as a Commissioner on the Planning and Zoning Commission for the City of North Richland Hills, Texas 1999-2000.
Joe is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Christ’s Haven for Children, Inc. He was the Chairman of the Board of Fort Worth Teen Court, Inc. from 1995 until 2006.
Joe was voted as a Top Construction Lawyer of Tarrant County,
Texas, by fellow lawyers - Fort Worth Magazine (2001-2004). He
holds a Martindale-Hubble AV rating.
